KING 810 Shares 'I Know You Heard Of Me' Single From Upcoming 'La Grande Mort Or Silence Of God' Album

October 1, 2026

Flint, Michigan heavy music outliers KING 810 will unleash their new full-length album, "La Grande Mort Or Silence Of God", on November 27. It not only serves as the band's fourth full-length offering of original new material in 18 months, but you also could call it the spiritual successor to their most-acclaimed and most-streamed 2016 second LP, "La Petite Mort Or A Conversation With God". Rather than retread the same old ground, they celebrate 10 years since the latter with another violent evolution manifested in the form of the eight tracks on "La Grande Mort Or Silence Of God".

KING 810 has released the brand new single "I Know You Heard Of Me", the first song on "La Grande Mort Or Silence Of God".

Opening the record with a song like "I Know You Heard Of Me" is intentional. Vocalist David Gunn's lyrics are at their best when they're vivid and thought-provoking, and his musings here are exactly that; they ominously set both the scene and tone for every song that follows it. The track is a suspense-filled shape-shifter, slowly morphing from ominous lullaby to explosive symphony over its four-minute runtime.

Speaking on the single, Gunn comments: "'I Know You Heard Of Me' is a transmission I got a long time ago — a channeling whose origin I can't even be sure of myself.

"This one's about the idea that we're not the first to notice something's off about reality — that people have been trying to warn each other for thousands of years, and getting burned for it. Figuratively and literally."

"La Grande Mort Or Silence Of God" serves as the sister record to 2016's critically acclaimed sophomore work "La Petite Mort Or A Conversation With God", both celebrating the album's legacy and continuing its harrowing, heartbreaking and brutally honest story.

"La Petite Mort" broke new ground for both KING 810 and heavy music. It represents the real-life violence and despair linked to the band's home of Flint, Michigan, and the steady desensitization of the human spirit when facing it head-on. That concept has darkness, desperation and intense intimacy in its orbit, portrayed with a blend of spoken word, industrial tones, metallic density and raw authenticity that earned the record widespread critical praise.

A decade on from its release and recorded alongside longtime collaborator Josh Schroeder (LORNA SHORE, FROZEN SOUL, VARIALS),"La Grande Mort" is a violent evolution that re-examines its counterparts themes through a now rusted lens. Its visceral and unrelenting landscape has come into focus once again for the next chapter of the story.

Speaking on the new album's inspiration, Gunn shares: "Ten years ago, we explored 'the little death' — a phrase the French use to describe orgasm — in a sexually charged body of work. This year, we experience the silence of God. The little death was only a rehearsal for the big death."

"La Grande Mort Or Silence Of God" will be available on various physical formats and across all major streaming platforms.

All along, the most dangerous thing about KING 810 was how free they are. They don't play by the rules. They don't need to listen to a label or a manager. They create when they want, how they want, and where they want. If they want to release three albums in a calendar year, they will. If they want to build a giant oil rig on stage for an annual ceremony, they will. If they want to make an occult indie film to accompany an album, they will. If they want to jump from neck-snapping metal to street corner spoken word to séance-style seduction to gothic blues within the span of a song, you'd better believe they will.

The quartet — David Gunn (vocals, guitar, keys),Eugene Gill (bass),John Paul Vega (drums) and Bryce Ballinger (guitar) — fought tooth and nail to be heard, taking Flint, Michigan around the world with them. They have gathered over 100 million streams, collaborated with everyone from Freddie Gibbs to Trick Trick, played sold-out shows on multiple continents, and incited the applause of Vice, Revolver and many more. A decaying world always calls for destructive art for rebirth, and they heed this call with 2026's "La Grande Mort Or Silence Of God". It's KING 810 at their finest — utterly fiery and uncompromisingly free.
